The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Your full name, your email address for subscribing to our opt-in marketing database, we use Mailchimp as our marketing database
  • Full name, your address, your email address for the purposes of processing any donations using JotForm with integration to our secure payment provide, Stripe
  • Our payment processor, Stripe, will also collect your preferred payment card details to process your donations, your card details are not available to Masjid Umar (EMET)
  • We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about website visitor analytics, the data set is anonymised i.e., we cannot identify individual website visitors

 

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have opted into our marketing and communications database
  • You have provided personal details so we can process donations on your behalf

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • We receive information about your donation and payment details from our payment processor Stripe. However, we do not have visibility to your payment card data

We use the information that you have given us to process your donation and issue you with an electronic receipt by email

We may share this information internally within Masjid Umar (EMET). We do not share your data with any organisation or individual outside of the trustees and administration staff of Masjid Umar (EMET)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us by email at [email protected] or simply opting out from any communication you receive from us through Mailchimp.

(b) We have a contractual obligation.

(c) We have a legal obligation.

(d) We have a vital interest.

(e) We need it to perform a task e.g., process donations.

(f) We have a legitimate interest.

 How we store your personal information

We keep your name, residential address and email for an indefinite period or until you instruct to remove your details from our marketing and communications database

Your information is securely stored on Mailchimp, Jotform and Stripe

We use Mailchimp to hold your name and email address for marketing and communication purposes.

We use Jotform integrated with our preferred payment processer Stripe to store your name, residential address and email so we can process e-receipts for your donations. JotForm passes your name, registered payment card address and your email details to Stripe to process your payment on the Stripe platform.

Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
